With more people browsing where to eat on the internet, Eveve have developed a restaurant system with an online facility to allow customers to book a table and leave a deposit over the internet. This reduces calls to the restaurant and provides a 24 hour sales channel for customers to book a table online.
The system is flexible and tailored to allow the restaurant the ability to control how tables are booked. The system knows:
- The restaurant layout and table plan
- Number of covers for each table
- Which tables can be joined to accommodate more covers
- Attributes of a table (near a window, suitable for children)
The restaurant is always in control of its bookings and table layouts by setting its own booking rules, such as:
- Which order tables should be booked - windows tables book first
- Limiting the number of covers for peak periods - allows for 'walk-in' business
- Not allowing group booking for peak periods - can sell more high vaule covers than few large tables
- Limit the number of booking at one time - staggering bookings so staff and kitchen are not swamped
- Recommend different times for busy periods
- Automatic controls where booking activity is suspicious
The system centralises bookings for chains of restaurants, so if one restaurant is full it will recommend another availabile one. So if a customer calls they can be booked even if the restaurant is full. Booking online the user will get alternative times or an alternative restaurant in the same chain.
Internet bookings feed the main booking system in real-time which optimise the table layout to ensure that the maximum numbers of covers are catered for. The system can be used standalone or integrated with Eveve-EPOS. When integrated with EPOS any deposit or pre-paid menus are automatically debited to the bill. When the table is cleared and paid EPOS makes the table available to be booked.
